“All my friends are leaving Brisbane”
You’re in your 20s. All your friends are in a couple or travelling overseas while you’re single and stuck in a boring job. Sound familiar?
That’s the storyline of All My Friends Are Leaving Brisbane – a romantic comedy from director Louise Alston, showing at this year’s Brisbane International Film Festival.
Based on a screenplay by Brisbane playwright Stephen Vagg, the film is a very realistic account of that time in your life where you make the choice to either settle down or fly away and see the sights of the world.
Should the main character Anthea follow her friends to London, or stay in Brisbane and try to make things work out with her ex?
It attributes plenty of well-known Brisbane locations that are sure to have you pointing at the screen, saying ‘ I’ve been drinking there!’, and a fantastic, grungy soundtrack featuring some great Brisbane bands.
The soundtrack, with Giants of Science, Intercooler, Fi Claus and Dave McCormack, will be released in September to coincide with The Valley Fiesta.
